How Meadow Outdoor Gives Back to the Local Community

The most popular way that Meadow Outdoor Advertising gives back to the community is through using our product to advertise for different causes. We call these gratis advertisements, which are done on billboard spaces that have yet to be sold and are sitting open. They are primarily awarded to non-profit organizations that help to educate or otherwise improve the local community such as churches, summer camps, shelters, and others. Most of Meadow’s work is in The Dalles, Oregon, and the wider Wasco County region close to our main office, but it can be done anywhere Meadow has a billboard.

Some of the past gratis recipients have included:

-          YES House (Youth Empowerment Shelter)

-          Camp Harlow

-          Knights of Columbus

-          Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum

-          The Dalles Youth Football

-          Camp Morrow

-          Mid-Columbia Senior Center Bingo

-          Community Meals The Dalles

-          Calvary Baptist Church

-          Oregon Coast Aquarium

-          Columbia Gorge Habitat for Humanity

-          Salvation Army

-          Grant County Veterans Services

-          Home at Last Humane Society

Meadow also will put up PSA ads on available billboards for causes or to communicate messages that Meadow wants to promote. Many of these signs were placed during the pandemic in 2020 and most are to express our gratitude for our fellow community members. Two examples of this are our “Thank You Firefighters” PSA and “Healthcare are Heroes” PSA!

Meadow has completed over 400 gratis advertisements for free or at a reduced price. Meadow often takes care of the full cost of generating artwork, printing, shipping, and installing the vinyl. We at Meadow are proud that we can give back, we always want to be good neighbors and strengthen our local communities when we can!
