Meadow’s 2025 All Company Meeting

As another June has come and gone, so has another Meadow All Company Meeting! Each year, all Meadow employees gather at our main headquarters in The Dalles, OR, to have meetings and bond as a team! As a billboard company, Meadow’s employees are spread all over the West Coast, in all of the states we operate in, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California. Our installers and maintenance crew need to be near the structures they work on. Our salespeople live in their markets to be closer to their clients. Additionally, other employees live in the region but work remotely. So, once a year, we take the time to come together to help the company work more cohesively throughout the year.

Throughout the week, we have many meetings, as a whole group and as departments. We discuss issues and solutions that might be difficult to discuss over Zoom, and go over the general state of how each department is functioning. These meetings are incredibly important for building trust within a team and understanding how each member operates on a deeper level that can’t be grasped through a screen.

Our meetings, typically on the last day of the week, are a little different, including presenters who give talks on anything from outdoor advertising creative quality to how to better work with your team. This year, we were happy to invite three speakers! The first is Todd Turner of Up to Something Creative Agency, who discussed creative ways to make your billboard stand out from the crowd with practical effects. The second was Jennifer Bouman-Steagall of Red Kite Rising, who was a return guest from last year to discuss our personalized work habits and how to temper them to work better together. Last but not least was Ken Klien, a long-time friend of Meadow Outdoor and former OAAA lobbyist, who discussed how best to avoid detrimental legislation against the outdoor advertising Industry.

But Meadow’s All-Company Meeting isn’t all work and no play! We participate in team bonding activities such as Meadow trivia and an annual cornhole tournament. We also have breakfast, lunch, and dinner together throughout the week with plenty of time to mingle. While it might seem unproductive to spend so much time, energy, and money on this large meeting every year, it is vital to Meadow’s success and company culture.

The time spent face-to-face with one another helps to drive empathy and understanding within our team. We hear the tone of voice that doesn’t come across in an email. We begin to know our co-workers on a more personal and human level. We learn about the other departments that we might not have contact with on a daily basis. All this and more spares us the miscommunications and hurt feelings that can crop up in professional settings.

Here’s to another great All Company Meeting that helps to make Meadow the best little billboard company in the world!
