Meadow’s Partnership with Local Beaver Habitat Non-profit Continues
Michaela Haight, September 22nd, 2025
Last year, Meadow supplied Beaver Works, a non-profit restoring beaver habitat in Oregon, with some old billboard vinyls. These vinyls were repurposed to be bags to carry willow saplings and branches for planting in beaver habitats for beavers to eat and build with. This year, Beaver Works continued working on old vinyls from both Meadow Outdoor and Carlson Sign Company, a billboard company in Bend, OR.
Maureen Thompson, Beaver Works’ project manager, explained to volunteers the importance of this work and thanked contributors in an email. “With your care and creativity, we’re now one step closer to replacing single-use plastics with durable, recycled alternatives for use in our restoration work in 2026 and beyond. These bags reduce labor, reduce waste, and make our work safer.”
“This project wouldn’t happen without the collaboration and ingenuity of our community. Thank you to Anvil Sewing Inc. for hosting us in their space and to Meadow Outdoor Advertising and Carslon Sign for the generous donations of vinyl billboards. We’re thrilled to continue this waste-reduction effort!”
Meadow is happy to provide our old vinyls to local non-profits, in the hope that they will be used for years to come. We direct our vinyls to many different worthy efforts, including Every Shelter. The only place we don’t want them to go is to waste!
Beaver Works has two more upcoming sewing workshops, on November 7th and December 17th. If you would like to volunteer, go to the Beaver Works website: beaverworksoregon.org/volunteer, or to learn more, follow them on Instagram: @beaverworksoregon.
