New Billboard Ad for Bushnell University Blazes Trail

Recently Meadow Outdoor installed a huge project that has been months in the making. After bringing in Creative experts and creating custom installations, Bushnell University’s billboard display is complete. With a custom, illuminated pop-out extension towering over the billboard, this display will captivate the imagination of anyone who sees it.
The timing of the installation was perfect. As the days grow shorter and it’s dark outside during 5 o’clock rush hour, commuters will see Bushnell University’s luminous message every night driving home. This makes Bushnell’s display literally a light in the darkness and gives a powerful meaning to their mission to ‘Be a Beacon’.
We must thank our friend and partner Melody Roberts of Out of Home Creative for her help with this design. She has made many other brands come to life in unique ways through the out-of-the-medium, and this project was no exception. Melody complimented our installer Jason on his ability to execute her design. “For what it’s worth- I've seen and worked with a lot of vendors and this, by far, is one of the best embellishment executions I have seen.”
One of the most amazing things about the out-of-home industry is the physical dimension of the ad. It can be a challenge, but it also lends billboard ads a gravitas that other mediums simply cannot match. Creating the illuminated torch was an intense process, but was worth it when the end result came together.
This billboard ad is not only impressive for the size and illumination of the extension, but for the design itself. The soft gradient makes the background interesting and fills the blank space without detracting from the message. The text contrasts well with the red behind it, as well as being bold and readable. The advertiser’s message is conveyed with only 5 words and no contact method. This ad’s success is in its simplicity as much as its extravagance.
Most importantly of all, this display worked for the advertiser. The Vice President of Enrollment at Bushnell University, Michael Fuller, expressed this to his sales contact at Meadow.
“We are so thankful for our working relationship with Meadow. They are thoughtful, creative, and have done their very best to understand our brand and the messages that we are working to convey. Our newest board design is but one more example of their good work and our partnership.”
Bushnell University and Meadow made a joint post of the billboard on Instagram. In about a day it had hundreds of likes and lots of glowing comments. To see the post visit our Instagram page.
